On Saturday, May 13, 2006, the following local students graduated from Thomas Aquinas College with a BA in liberal arts:

On Saturday, May 13, 2006, the following local students graduated from Thomas Aquinas College with a BA in liberal arts:• Henry Edward Teichert from Oak View. Henry Edward Teichert led the Pledge of Allegiance. The title of his thesis was “The Establishment Clause, the Supreme Court, and Judicial Chaos”.• Jonathan Damian Teichert from Oak View. The title of his thesis was “The Road to God: What is Humility, and Why Is It Important”.• Rose Delahide Ferrier from Santa Paula. The title of her thesis was “Sharper Than a Serpent’s Tooth: Filial Impiety in King Lear”.
Presiding over the commencement exercises was His Excellency Archbishop Celestino Migliore, Apostolic Nuncio and Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations. In his commencement address, he spoke to the graduates about the virtues of wisdom and humility in the intellectual life. Earlier in the day, Archbishop Migliore was the principal celebrant of the Baccalaureate Mass.78 young men and women from around the United States and abroad received their diplomas from Thomas Aquinas College. These graduates have completed a rigorous, fully - integrated program of Catholic liberal education in which they have read and discussed only the original texts of the greatest minds in Western civilization - the Great Books - in all the major arts and sciences. They will go on to professions as varied as education, law, medicine, journalism, business, the military, the priesthood, and the religious life.
