Rudy Medrano Cardoza Rudy Medrano Cardoza, 52, a lifelong resident of Santa Paula, passed away at Santa Paula Hospital on Sunday, October 15, 2006, with his loving wife and children by his side. Rudy was born on October 25, 1953 in Ventura. He worked for the County of Ventura Flood Control, but his greatest love was for his family.Rudy was preceded in death by his grandma, Rosario Medrano Guerra; aunt, Margie Garcia; mother-in-law Ernestine Morua Huizar; and brothers-in-law Randy Lopez and Ralph “Rafa” Huizar.Mr. Cardoza leaves his wife of 20 years, Marilyn (Peaches), and children Daniel, Ernie and Darlene (Nini) Cardoza, all from Santa Paula; parents, Henry Sr. and Rosario Cardoza of Santa Paula; brothers and sisters, Tina Medrano of Santa Paula, Gilbert (wife Rosa) Cardoza of Ventura, Rosie Cardoza of Santa Paula, and Henry Cardoza of Fillmore; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.The Cardoza family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Noah for the care throughout the years he provided and showed to our loving husband, father, son and friend.We little knew that morningThat God was going to call your name.In live we loved you dearly,In death we do the same.It broke our heart to lose you,You did not go alone,For part of us went with youThe day God called you home.You left us peaceful memories,Your love is still our guide;And though we cannot see you,You are always at our side.

PesinaAlejandro V. Pesina, age 56, of Santa Paula, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at his home. He was born December 15, 1949 in Cerritos, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, and had been a county resident for 36 years, coming from Mexico.Mr. Pesina enjoyed spending time with his family and playing poker - he “always had a spare deck of cards.” He also enjoyed watching his favorite sport, baseball.Mr. Pesina was preceded in death by his father, Pablo Pesina, and mother-in-law, Maria Guadalupe Limon. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Maria L. Pesina; daughters, Letty (husband Chuy) Izaguirre, Martha Pesina, Maggie (husband Gabino) Franco; and Elaine “Nena” (husband Miguel) Rendon; and seven grandchildren, Letty, Jesse, Alyssa, Briana, Celeste, Anayi and Juliannah “Mama Julie.” He is also survived by his mother, Maria Pesina Vargas, 12 brothers and sisters, many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.Lo queremos y lo extrañamos mucho.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 29 at Skillin-Carroll Mortuary, with a rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 30 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, with burial following at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery.Arrangements are under the direction of Skillin-Carroll Mortuary, 738 E.
