Daniel Solis, Jr.
This world was blessed on February 23, 1984 when Daniel “Danny” Solis, Jr. was born in Ventura. Danny left this world to be with our Lord on Tuesday, July 25, 2000 at the age of 16 in Reno Nevada, his home, his love.Danny was loved by every person whose life he touched. Words cannot begin to express the magnitude of our loss.Danny’s life was full of joy; his love for football, his love of life, his love for his friends and Wooster High School and his love for his family overflowed.Danny is survived by his father, Dan Solis and his sister Dena Solis of Reno, Nevada; his mother, Lynn Solis of Sacramento; his maternal grandparents Al and Nita Chewning, his paternal grandparents Ralph and Elsie Solis, and paternal aunts and uncles Joe Solis, Diana Solis, David Solis and Anne McInerney, all of Santa Paula; cousin Christina Solis of Thousand Oaks; cousins Adryanna, Arlyne, Angelyssa, Melissa and Laura Solis, all of Santa Paula; maternal aunt and uncle Karen and Mark Buffalohead and cousins Mark and Kristalin Buffalohead, all of Eucha, Oklahoma; maternal aunt and uncle Ted and Terry Chewning and cousins Tiffany, T. C. and Brandon Chewning, all of Fillmore; maternal aunt Diane Cuske and cousins Jonathon, Sara and Christopher Cuske, all of Atwater; and numerous other extended family, including great aunts and uncles and second cousins and friends in Southern California, and countless friends in Reno, Nevada. There are many things for which Danny will always be remembered, not the least of which are his love of football, his incredible smile, his ability to comfort you with his presence, his silly playfulness, his charismatic personality, and his ability to forever touch your heart and soul without even trying, just by being himself. Danny was honest, loving, caring, compassionate and always true to himself and his convictions. Danny will be dearly missed by all who knew him.We believe in our hearts that although Danny had much left to do in his earthly life, his soul was so clean that he was ready to move on to his eternal life with God in heaven. Most of us spend a whole lifetime trying to meet that criteria, and Danny was able to do it effortlessly in his brief time here with us.A rosary service in honor of Daniel’s memory was scheduled for 7 p.m. on August 1st at Pierce Brothers Stetler Mortuary, Santa Paula. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, August 2nd at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Ventura.
