Ventura County Public Health is seeking grant applications from community groups to promote nutrition education among low-income, Food Stamp eligible residents in qualifying Gold Coast regions of Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.
Ventura County Public Health is seeking grant applications from community groups to promote nutrition education among low-income, Food Stamp eligible residents in qualifying Gold Coast regions of Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.Made possible with a grant from the California Department of Public Health, the 2008-2009 Mini-Grant program will fund projects for up to $4,999 each. A total of $20,000 is available during this funding cycle.
Applications are encouraged from community-based organizations, local health jurisdictions, faith-based and educational institutions. Preference will be given to innovative projects that focus on direct nutrition education and empower the participants to promote community empowerment for improved nutrition.The application packet is available at http://www.goldcoastnetwork.org. For priority consideration, applications must be received by 5 p.m. on October 3, 2008.
