Santa Paula Economic Development Specialist Rochelle Margolin said the article was not just serendipity.“The City, through the California Oil Museum, worked with AAA Westways writers to get the article included in this month’s edition,” and, Margolin noted, “It is further evidence of what we here in Santa Paula already know…we have a wonderful city with so much to offer!”Also noted in the Westways’ page 22 article is that tours of the city’s famous murals can be arranged through the museum, ride the Fillmore & Western Railway and see the city’s historic Depot, and tells readers that although the Aviation Museum of Santa Paula holds its Open House on the first Sunday of the Month but is available for tours by appointment. Also given a plug is that the Museum’s new headquarters are expected to be open in 2009.Aside from Familia Diaz the article recommends the macadamia nut-crusted halibut at Mupu Grills and notes that the restaurant originally opened in the 1930s.Glen Tavern Inn and Santa Paula Inn are places to stay with the Glen Tavern’s historic Tudor-Craftsman architecture getting a strong nod and Santa Paula Inn’s past as a “one-time brothel” receiving an amusing mention.
