Athletics (Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, Wrestling) has just completed another successful season of winter sports.

Thank you to all of our supporters who came out to support our teams this season. We can say it was a successful season all the way around in terms of academics, and performance on the field. Everything went fairly smooth, and our teams competed at every level. Girl’s basketball only won a few games, but in terms how the program was handled and operated they have gained significant recognition throughout the county, we expect big things very soon.

Girls soccer ended the year on a high note, our JV team ended up 11-3-4 overall and 8-0-2 in league play while our girls varsity soccer team ended up going 14-5-2 overall and 7-1-2 in league play, losing in the CIF quarter finals.

As for boys basketball, they qualified for CIF playoffs, losing in the first round while the freshmen team went 16-6 overall and 8-2 in league play with a very tough schedule. The future is looking very promising. Boys’ soccer had a tougher time competing against elite competition, but overall was still a success in that no one was lost due to academics.

Wrestling defended their league championship for the fourth consecutive year, with CIF individual champion in Joe Camacho. Also, Girls wrestling is on the come up, with several girls qualifying for all state with a few of them placing. Good job girls.

Special thanks to our coaches, Jesus Cordova, Armando Leon, Juan Nava, Raquel Gonzales, Nemesio Llamas, Brian Blevins, Rene Medina, Jaime Montalvo, Thomas Gonzales, Vanessa Lowe, Gary Nichols, Brandon Nichols, Dave Urias, Abel Mejia, Rob Lemons, Robert Hastie, Michael Torres, Mark Lopez, Gwen Harrod, and Mallory Ruiz. We appreciate your time and sacrifices you have made for our teams and out athletes.
