Santa Paula girl shining at Colorado State

Santa Paula native Marissa Reyes has been named Athlete of the Week for Colorado State University Pueblo. Marissa, a freshman softball player, plays first base and pitches for the team.

She played for St. Bonaventure before attending Colorado State. In high school she was selected to the 1st Team All Ventura County Team for both 2009 and 2010 seasons, made 2nd Team All Tri-Valley League for 2007 and 2008, and was selected to the 1st Team All Tri-Valley League for 2009 season.

Academically Marissa was an All Academic Tri-Valley League selection for all four years. She received the U.S. Marines Athletic Award for 2010.
