The JV girls softball team came back after a two-week break to beat Carpinteria 12-6 this week. They added three more in the fourth inning. The girls took advantage of some Carpinteria errors but also had some timely base hits throughout the game. The Lady Cards committed eight errors of their own, but key defensive plays got them out of some jams.Santa Paula’s Brittney Mendoza only allowed five hits.“We were down 4-0 after two innings but we really played well after our slow start,” said Coach Henry Jacinto. “Alyssa Ramirez’ double RBI triple really got us going in the third inning.”
Ramirez went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and Erika Mora went 2-for-5 for the JV.The girls now have a 2-3 record overall for the season. They begin league play next Tuesday at Malibu.
