Jonathan Isaiah Barba Our Little Angel, Jonathan Isaiah Barba, passed away at UCLA Medical Center on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 following a lengthy illness. He was born on November 30, 2004 in Ventura.He will be deeply missed by his parents, Alfredo and Julissa Barba of Santa Paula; 4-year-old brother, Christian Alfredo Barba; grandmother, Fiby Quinones of Oxnard; grandparents, Miguel and Esperanza Barba of Piru; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.The family wishes to thank all of the doctors and their staff at UCLA Medical Center for the loving care shown to Jonathan and his family.…To be absent from the bodyis to be present with the Lord.II Corinthians 5:8Funeral Mass was held April 18 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Santa Paula. Burial followed at Santa Clara Cemetery in Oxnard.Arrangements under the direction of Skillin-Carroll Mortuary, Santa Paula.Mary F. RodriguezOur loving mother, Mary F. Rodriguez, 89, of Santa Paula, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, April 13, 2005.Mary was born on March 8, 1916 in Lordsburg, New Mexico to Octaviano and Felipa Flores. She came to Ventura County with her family as a young girl and was a resident for 85 years.Mary and her husband were Pioneer members helping to build the Latin American Assembly of God Church in Santa Paula. In later years, Mary attended the Christian Praise Assembly Church in Fillmore and was a prayer intercessor, remembering and praying for everyone she met.Mary was a homemaker for over 70 years, cooking and taking care of everyone. No matter how Mary felt, she always looked her best.She is survived by sons, John F. Rodriguez and Robert L. Rodriguez, daughter Maiya Rodriguez, and sister Rose Flores, all of Santa Paula; brother and sister-in-law James and Hope Flores of Fresno; grandson, Robert L. Rodriguez, Jr. of Indio, CA; granddaughters, Laura Gomez of Ventura and Diana Contreras of Santa Paula; great-grandchildren, Rosalie Rodriguez of Santa Paula, and Bridget Rodriguez, Monique Rodriguez and Dwayne Rodriguez, all of Bakersfield; and 10 great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John G. Rodriguez, daughter, Rachel M. Gore and mother, Felipa V. Martinez.The family wishes to thank Haydee Ortega, Dr. Anna Chen and Dr. Evan Slater for taking such good care of Mary.

Abner Puebla officiating. Burial followed at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery.Arrangements under the direction of Skillin-Carroll Mortuary, 525-3391.Marion Louise CulverMarion Louise Culver, of Santa Paula, CA, passed away in her home on Thursday, April 14, 2005 after a short illness.Marion was born in Santa Paula on October 9, 1914. She attended school in Santa Paula, graduating from Santa Paula High School in 1931. She then attended Santa Barbara State College (now UCSB), graduating in 1936.Marion married Frank E. (Bob) Culver of Brawley, CA in December 1939. He preceded her in death in 1959.She is survived by son Frank A. Culver and his wife Patricia, both from Gilbert, Arizona; daughter Caroline Edge and husband Mike of Indio, CA; seven grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and one great great grandson. She also leaves her niece, Patricia Stewart Sullivan of Half Moon Bay, CA, and a nephew, Dr. Charles Stewart of Santa Paula.According to her wishes, no funeral services are planned. Her family requests that memorial donations in her name be made to Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice of Ventura.Arrangements are under the direction of Funeraria del ángel Stetler Mortuary, 128 S. 8th St., Santa Paula, 525-5595.
