Varsity boys remain unbeaten

The Cardinal varsity soccer team remains unbeaten after two more league games last week.
The varsity beat a strong St. Bonaventure team 3-0 Friday. In a make-up game Saturday Santa Paula ended up beating Oaks Christian in overtime, 2-1.Dela Medina scored a goal in each period against St. Bonaventure and Luis Vaca got the third point on a penalty kick. “Even though we struggled in the first half, we put it together in the second and kept our unbeaten streak going,” said Coach Manny Elizarraraz.Vaca scored the winning goal against Oaks Christian off a corner kick from Fernando Zapata.The JV boys tied St. Bonnie 0-0 and then tied Oaks Christian Saturday 1-1.
The boys travel to Carpinteria this afternoon for what will most likely be a hard-fought game.
