On Saturday, Sept. 29, people from across Ventura County will lend a hand to support United Way of Ventura County’s 18th Annual Day of Caring. Teams and individual volunteers like you will once again prove you care about our community. This year, a special effort has been made to provide projects that are in-line with United Way’s Community Impact Focus Areas thereby connecting resources and time with those who need it most. Volunteer projects are available throughout Ventura County, and will include a variety of tasks, such as sorting and packing canned goods, light landscaping or painting, spending time with seniors, manning youth arts and crafts tables, and more. New this year are family friendly projects. All volunteers will receive a Day of Caring t-shirt, quality working gloves, water, and a smile knowing that you are helping others! A free “thank you to volunteers” breakfast will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 7:30 am - 8:30 am at the United Way office located at 1317 Del Norte Road in Camarillo.
Special note - One person can sign up a team of volunteers. Save space for the projects you want now, then go back and add the names of your team members no later than Saturday, Sept. 15. If you have any questions about the Day of Caring projects or how to sign up, please contact Marisa Lopez at (805) 485-6288 ext. 276 or mlopez@vcunitedway.org.
