The initial report to the SPPD was that “subjects with knives wanted to get into the party and were refusing to leave” and then it was reported that “three subjects were attempting to gain entry after they were ejected.”Upon arrival SPPD Officers detained six people and “ran them” i.e. checked criminal records and discovered that one man had an outstanding warrant for a parole violation.Officers arrested Gilbert Ray Salas, 32, of Oxnard for the parole violation.Lt. Juarez said that it is not sure if the party was a Halloween celebration, “whether or not people were in costumes” but that it was a “pretty big party. I do not know how exactly how many people were there” but that the responding Officers said that many people were at the scene.“It was one of those incidents where people have a party and people start coming out of the woodwork,” even if they were not invited said Lt. Juarez.
