Amelia Estrada
Amelia Estrada, age 61, of Santa Paula, died Wednesday, December 6, 2000 at St. John’s Regional Medical Center, Oxnard following a brief illness. She was born January 5, 1939 in La Joya de Luna, Cerritos, S.L.P., Mexico, and was an 18-year county resident coming from Mexico in 1982.Mrs. Estrada worked for Olga Factory as a sewing machine operator during the 1980s. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, and was a very giving and nurturing person who not only gave her love to her family but also to the many people who surrounded her.She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends, including her husband of 29 years, Odilon Estrada of Santa Paula; son Jaime Estrada of Santa Paula; daughters and sons-in-law, Araceli and Juan C. Ramirez of Santa Paula, and Paula and Evaristo Corona of Chicago, Illinois; daughter Irelia Limon of Chicago; brothers and sisters-in-law, Justo and Dora Vasquez of Chicago, and Aurelio and Maria Vasquez of Mexico; seven grandchildren, Daniel, Cynthia, Erika, Amelia, Leslie, Kevin and Darlene; and numerous nieces and nephews.The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Dr. Aron Swerdlin, Dr. Rosemary McIntyre, and the nursing staff at St. John’s Regional Medical Center for the loving care they gave to Amelia.
Funeral services were held December 12 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Santa Paula.Arrangements under the direction of Pierce Brothers Stetler Mortuary, Santa Paula.
