Ventura College Community Education is now accepting spring enrollments for a wide variety of short-term classes, workshops and seminars, conducted either in classrooms, throughout the community, or online.

“Community Education enrolls several thousand individuals each year into both professional development and personal enrichment classes.  There really is something for everyone,” notes Karen Gorback, Assistant Dean for Career, Technical and Community Education.

Samples of professional development classes include Veterinary Assisting, Notary Public Training, Become a Live Scan Fingerprinting Operator in a Day, Medical Terminology Boot Camp, Energy Auditor Training/BPI Certification (Building Performance Institute), LEED(r) Green Associate Test Preparation, Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam Preparation, Physical Therapy Aide Training, and many others.

Personal enrichment classes include Greek Cuisine, West African Dance and Drums, Assault Prevention for Women, French for Fun, The Supernatural History of the United States, Savvy Social Security Planning, Sage to Stage, Edible Organic Gardening, and dozens of others.

Community Education classes are self-supporting and do not confer college credits.  Online classes are available 24 hours per day to meet the continuing education needs of busy adults.

For more information about these and other lifelong learning opportunities, please call the Ventura College Community Education office at 654-6459, or visit the Community Education website at www.communityed.venturacollege.edu.
