Maria Candelaria Cabral, age 83, of Santa Paula, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2001. Maria was born on February 2, 1918 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Simon Cabral and Manuela Garcia. She was a resident of Ventura County for over 50 years. Maria worked for the Limoneira Company of Santa Paula for over 25 years.Maria is preceded in death by her son, Richard Cabral Rodriguez and daughter, Anita Perez. She is survived by her husband, Luis Cabral; sons, Raul Rodriguez, Ramon Rodriguez and Louie Cabral; daughters, Teresa Rodriguez, Cora Alvarez, Lupe Cabral and Jenny Cabral; 31 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; brothers, Antonio Cabral, Enrique Cabral, David Cabral and Cruz Cabral; and sister Carmela Cabral.The Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 18 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Santa Paula. Interment will follow at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery.Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Garcia Mortuary, Oxnard.

Ruby P. Payne
Ruby P. Payne, age 93, of Santa Paula, passed away on May 12, 2001. She was born on February 29, 1908 in Greenback, Tennessee and was a 44-year Ventura County resident.She is survived by her daughter, Betty George and husband William of Santa Paula; grandson Phillip George and wife Linda of Medford, Oregon; granddaughter Katherine Mendez and husband Jack of Santa Paula; and five great grandsons.In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be sent to Santa Clara Valley Hospice, P.O.
