Santa Paula Police are still investigating an accident where an unlicensed driver hit two parked vehicles Monday. According to Senior Officer Larry Johnson, the incident occurred February 27 at about 2:55 p.m.

“Officer Joash Rothermel and other officers responded to the area of East Santa Barbara and North 12th streets for a vehicle accident involving a silver Ford Taurus that collided with two vehicles.” Johnson said the driver of the southbound Taurus had attempted to turn westbound onto Santa Barbara and was traveling at an estimated 20 mph when she lost control of the vehicle. The Taurus then struck two vehicles parked on 12th Street.

The unidentified woman - estimated to be in her 40s - complained of pain, but otherwise was not injured. Johnson said she refused treatment from Santa Paula Fire EMTs and ambulance paramedics who also responded to the scene.

There is no indication that alcohol or drugs was a factor in the crash. The driver, said Johnson, was found to be unlicensed.

The parked vehicles sustained moderate damage and the woman’s vehicle was the only one Johnson said had to be towed from the scene. The investigation is continuing.
