Legendary rock-and-roll singer Johnny Rivers will rock Upper Ojai on June 2, from 2 to 10 p.m.

The musician whose hits include “Secret Agent Man,” “Poor Side of Town” and “Summer Rain” is the featured performer at a daylong music festival, which also includes more than six other bands.

The lineup of bands includes hard rock, folk, country, blues and alternative: 8stops7, Claude Hopper, Anesha Rose, Jeff Hershey and the Heartbreaks, Aaron Orbit, Shotgun Granny and more.

The cost is $35 per person and $45 at the gate. All children, 12 and under, will be admitted free with one paid adult. Tickets are going fast and may be purchased online at www.summitmusicfest.org or by calling 805-727-1393. There is all-lawn seating, so festival-goers may bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets.

The Ojai Lions Club will be serving tri-tip barbecue and strawberry shortcake. Pinks of Hollywood will be selling hotdogs and veggie dogs. Beer and wine may be purchased at the festival. Festival-goers are welcome to bring their own food, but not their own alcohol.

There will be plenty of entertainment for children, including Purplicious “the Magical Purple Clowness,” from 3 to 7 p.m., pottery and fun games for children of all ages.

The festival is being held at a private residence on Sulphur Mountain Road in Upper Ojai. There is free onsite parking.

The Summit Music Fest proceeds benefit the Summit School, a public K-6 school, which is celebrating its centennial.
