June 22, 2012
Santa Paula Police Department

Santa Paula Police are looking for those who might have been victimized by a suspected burglar early Monday morning.

According to a SPPD statement, on June 18 at approximately 3:30 a.m. patrol officers observed and then detained a suspicious subject in the area of Blanchard Avenue and Rhame Terrace. The subject was subsequently arrested for suspicion of prowling and possession of stolen property.

The property recovered at the scene is suspected to have been stolen from vehicles and/or residences in the area. Sgt. Ryan Smith asked that if any resident was the victim of a theft on this date, they should contact him at (805) 525-4474 Ext. 180.

Always report any suspected criminal activity to the SPPD and remember: the best defense is a good offense. Don’t leave valuables or hide your keys in your vehicle; always lock your car. Make sure that all entries to your home are secure and well lit.

Be proactive - think about starting a Neighborhood Watch group to keep all eyes on any activity that is suspicious or out of the ordinary. Call the SPPD at 525-4474 if you are interested in starting a Neighborhood Watch program.
