He was also a member of the Fillmore-Santa Paula Lodge #291 F. & A.M., where he served as master of the lodge in 1988, and the Santa Paula O.E.S., Chapter #185, where he served as Worthy Patron five terms and served as Grand Chaplain in the State of California in 1996. Don was active in the Santa Paul Chamber of Commerce, the Santa Paula Boys and Girls Club, United Way and the Y.M.C.A.

Don served in the United States Army, seeing duty in Guam and Korea. He was a member of the Mercer-Prieto Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Don was involved in banking and finance for over 50 years, and was one of the founders of the Santa Clara Valley Bank in Santa Paula, also serving as the first chairman of the Board. He was also a partner in the Mupu Restaurant.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Velma, in 2010. He is survived by his brother, Kenneth Olivier, and sister, Gail Harris, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Gary Proffett, the Ventura Convalescent Hospital and the entire nursing staff, along with the Roze Room Hospice and the chaplain, Valerie DeLaTorre for their compassionate care during Don’s last days.
