The Santa Paula Halos baseball team of the California Collegiate League is looking for host families for the Summer 2013 season.
Host families will play a crucial role in the future success of the Halos, for the simple fact that half of the Halos players do not come from the Ventura County area. As NCAA student athletes, Halos players are not allowed to accept pay for playing. As a result, summer collegiate baseball leagues have traditionally relied on local families to house their players. _ _
Host families are only obligated to provide a spare bedroom and access to a bathroom and laundry facilities. Each player is responsible for their own food and transportation, although the host family may include the player in any meals and activities. The Halos will host a dinner for the host families at the end of the year as well as be recognized at a Halo game at the end of the year.
Hosting includes season tickets for each family member, a_Halo T-shirt for each member of the family, free admission for participation of any Halo baseball camps, a_host family end of the year dinner, recognition at a home game towards the end of the season and a plaque recognizing the host family.
