Adam Cerda, 10, a fifth-grade student at Bedell Elementary was touched by the terrorist attack in New York on September 11, and made room in his heart to find a way to help. In one week, he collected $300. by knocking on doors of his neighbors, friends, and relatives asking for their help. The money he raised will be matched by the Community Memorial Hospital and sent to the New York Police and Fireman funds. ?It was a terrible tragedy,? said Cerda. ?This was my way for letting them know I care.? Adam is the son of Larry and Mary Ann, of Santa Paula. Larry was a former Santa Paula firefighter, and now is with the Ventura County Fire Department.
