Music Down in My Soul: Gospel Music by the Half Notes Sunday

September 19, 2014
Santa Paula News

Gospel Music by the Half Notes will be performed on Sunday, September 21, 3:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church, 121 Davis Street (north of the clock tower). The Half Notes began nearly 20 years ago under the direction of Nita Arant. The group later became known as the Les Classeeks and now have returned as the Half Notes. Some of the favorite past programs were the Halloween extravaganza, The Grasshopper, an operatic spoof, Christmas shows, The Roarin’ 20’s, and Hawaiian Luau. Although singing gospel is new to the group, they bring the music to you with the same enthusiasm and heart that they have put into all of their shows. It will be difficult not to sway a bit in your seat or bob your head from side to side as they belt out this moving music. The program is free and is a one hour of inspiration. Left to right back row are: Donna Nelson, Rod Thompson, Larry Murray, Kay Hara. (Front row: Joanna Axell, Linda Bartelson, Barbara Beach, Norma Fulkerson, Lea Blair, Bob Buchanan.
