An area man wanted on a felony warrant for a weapons violation and two others were arrested Wednesday in a usually quiet residential neighborhood following a brief standoff.

The incident included demands relayed by police on a bullhorn that the felon exit the residence or a K-9 would be sent in to detain him.

According to Santa Paula Police Gang Unit Senior Officer Allen Macias the incident started at about 12:15 p.m. in the 500 block of View Drive.

Said Macias, “Our Gang Unit had multiple information regarding illegal activity,” at the residence near the intersection of 6th Street.

There had been reports of “People coming and going and possibly gang members going in to and out of the garage area,” which Macias said led to an investigation that lasted about two weeks.

On Wednesday, Macias said police received “good   information” that Jason Kohr, 34, of Santa Paula, was present at the View Drive residence.

“We’ve had multiple contacts with him that have led to arrests... he just got released from prison,” and was presently being sought on a felony warrant for weapons violations.

Macias said police “Believe him to be a white supremacist gang member or an associate,” a belief reinforced by a tattoo sported by Kohr that reads “White Pride”.

When SPPD Patrol Officers and Gang Unit members arrived at the home no one would come out; the bullhorn was used and neighbors said instructions were given that if Kohr did not exit the residence a K-9 would be deployed to find him. Such an action, police announced, could lead to a dog bite.

“There was a good 20 to 25 minutes before anyone came to the front door,” which was about to trigger a barricaded subject response.

But “Finally,” said Macias, “our primary guy,” Kohr, exited and was taken into custody without further incident.

Kyle Polk, 48, a resident of the View Drive home owned by a relative, and Jorae Marquez, 48, of Clovis, who was found to be on probation, were arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance, which Macias said police suspect is methamphetamine.
