The CBS television series JAG filmed at the City of Santa Paula’s California Oil Museum on Tuesday, March 1, 2005, for scheduled broadcast on April 22. The scenes filmed at the Museum show the headquarters of the fictional Vicksburg Dealer newspaper in Mississippi. This segment develops two new characters in the series, Lt. Vukovic (Chris Beetem) and Lt. Graves (Jordano Spiro). They are conducting a Navy investigation to confirm the identity a recovered Vietnam War MIA veteran. Filming also took place at a Victorian home on Santa Paula Street. The California Oil Museum is an attractive filming location because of its striking Victorian-Queen Anne architecture. This National Register Historic Site was constructed in 1890 by the founders of Union Oil Company and was fully restored in 1990. The California Oil Museum was opened in the building in 1950 and has been operated by the City of Santa Paula since 1993 (1001 E. Main St., Santa Paula; 10 AM - 4 PM, Wed - Sun; 805-933-0076; $4 Adult, $3 Seniors, $1 Children). Photo provided by California Oil Museum
