His hobbies included bridge, poker and traveling. He had gone on a total of 11 cruises.He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Ray Newman of Ventura; sisters, Dorothy Donaldson of Camarillo and Helen Gallio of Santa Paula; brother Merrill Harrington of Palm Desert; sister-in-law Ruth Harrington of Ventura; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his close companion Theda Brunken of Ventura; and dear friends Anne, Joe, Katie and Lisa Greeley, all of Ventura. He was preceded in death by his wife Edeyth in 1994, his daughter Margaret Paula in 1956, and by his two brothers, Harold and Melvin.Services were held March 9 at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, Ventura, with the Reverend Milt Davis officiating. Private burial was at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association of Ventura County, 2500 E. Roger L. Ragsdale
Roger L. Ragsdale passed away March 1, 2000. He was born in Santa Paula.Roger is survived by his wife, Karen Ragsdale; and his sons, Russell, Clifford and Nathan Ragsdale.Memorial services were held March 4 at the Sunrise Chapel of Mountain View Mortuary, Altadena.Everett W. HarringtonEverett W. Harrington, age 84, of Ventura, died Sunday, March 5, 2000 in a Ventura convalescent hospital following a brief illness.Mr. Harrington was born December 9, 1915 in Santa Paula, and was a 48 year county resident coming from Los Angeles after attending college and meeting his wife.Everett was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II. He worked as an accountant for Brock Vegetable Company in Oxnard, and then for the County of Ventura as an accountant and auditor for 17 years before retiring.
