John “Jack” Alderson John F. Alderson, known to his family and close friends as Jack, died July 26, 2005, after an eight-year battle with progressive multiple sclerosis, of infections complicated by the disease.John, 37, lived most of his life in Santa Paula, attended Santa Paula schools and Ventura College. He was a very active young man, loved nature and being outdoors, and worked in construction and landscaping before he became ill. Music and writing poetry were two of his greatest passions.John is survived by his parents, Pat and Jim Alderson; son Jonathon Eian Alderson-Yarbrough; sister Susannah Harte and brother Craig Alderson and their families; and step-grandmother Tiva Gilbertson. He was preceded in death by another brother, Michael.The family wishes to express overwhelming gratitude to his primary caregiver Tonia Chambers and her husband Kenny, to Dr. Jeff Tubbs, Kris Ortiz, Katie Yeager, Julia Copeland, Rev. Carolyn Price, and to the many others who assisted John during his battle with MS.
There will be a private memorial service for the family. Gifts in John’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
