Josephine H. Aguilar Josephine H. Aguilar, 93, of Santa Paula, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2005, with her family by her side. Josephine was born May 15, 1912 in Santa Paula to the union of Bernabe Herrera and Tomasa D. Herrera.Our mother was a true gift from our Lord. She was a devoted Catholic with a great love of family. Her children were her pride and joy. She had a love of gardening, which was a passion of hers. Every rose bloomed with the love and care she gave them.This is how our precious mother nurtured her family, each one different, with a special need. She knew us best. She always worked hard, and we know how blessed we were to have her. Her children and grandchildren surrounded her with love to the very end. We will always miss you, Mom, but we know you are resting in the house of our Lord, who saw you were tired and called you home. The love that surrounded you in your last days will always be with you throughout eternity.The family wishes to give thanks to Linda Boynton for ministering the Eucharist to Grandma each week. The family would also like to thank Mrs. Ortiz from the Alzheimer’s Association.Mrs. Aguilar was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Aguilar; sons, Raymundo Aguilar and John Raymond Aguilar; brothers, John D. Herrera, Manuel D. Herrera and Monico D. Herrera; and sisters, Maria Avina, Ramona Cabrera and Carmen Magana.Josephine is survived by her sons, Jim Aguilar (wife Ruth) of Ventura, Al Aguilar (wife Elaine) of Santa Paula and Henry Aguilar (wife Cecilia) of Santa Paula; daughters, Virginia Araiza (husband Hector B.) of Santa Paula, Amelia Alcoser (husband Ralph) of Fillmore, Alice Luna of Fillmore and Lupe Carrillo (husband Ruben) of Santa Paula; daughter-in-law Erma Aguilar; sisters, Antonia Chavez and Lupe Martinez; brothers, Augustine Herrera and Raymond Herrera; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.Services were held October 4 at St. Sebastian Church, with burial at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery.Arrangements were under the direction of Funeraria del ángel Stetler Mortuary, 128 S. 8th St., Santa Paula; phone 525-5595.Death Notices
