Celia Galvan Castro 

Celia Galvan Castro, born August 5, 1926 in Saticoy, California, passed away on September 5, 2014 in Santa Paula with her beloved children at her side after a short illness. 

She was preceded by her husband Manuel J. Castro and is survived by her daughter Yolanda Juarez of Oxnard;son Xavier Castro of Riverside, CA; son Victor Castro of Portland, Oregon; 3 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and sisters Margarita Haro of Nogales, Arizona and Cruz Salazar of Ventura, California. 

Celia was a long time parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and dedicated member of the Guadalupanas for over 40 years where she was actively involved with the food preparation in the parish hall and fundraisers such as the Jamaica Festival as well as having had taught Catechism Classes.  

We must rejoice that we had such a sister rather than grieve that we have lost a sister, for Celia was a gift from God. 

Visitation will be held from 12pm - 5pm Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Chapel of Angels, 600 East Pleasant Street, Santa Paula with a rosary to be recited at 7pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 427 North Oak Street, Santa Paula. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10am, Wednesday, September 10, 2014 also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Charles Lueras, C.R.I.C. Officiating.
